Leah Helen Gordon
Leah Helen Gordon, daughter of the late Malcum and Margaret (Rush) Steadman, was born April 26, 1944 in Boston, Mass., where she grew up and attended school.
On Dec. 29, 1979, she married Donald Lloyd Gordon in Boston. They shared more than 35 years of marriage together and three children: JoAnn, Lisa and Joseph.
While living in Boston, she worked in retail and also worked at Dunkin Donuts which was her favorite job. Most of her working years, she was privileged to stay home and raise her family.
In 2004, Leah Gordon and her family moved to the Waynesville area and had been a member of the Waynesville community since that time. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting her nails and caring for her home and family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, at the age of 71. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Donald Gordon of the home; two daughters, JoAnn Goethe (Kenneth) of Waynesville and Lisa Jensen (Rick) of Plymouth, Mass.; one son, Joseph Myatt, Jr., of Worcester, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Mallory Washington, Kenneth Goethe, Jr., Douglas Dowling, Robert Dowling, Andrew Jensen, Tracey Jensen and Ashley Myatt; twelve great grandchildren, Nevaeh Myatt-Goethe, Kash Barr, Brendan Pinto, Ryan Pinto, Rilynn Hooley, Reese Jensen, Tristan Dowling, Rowan Jensen, Trey Dowling, Kyren Locke, Presley Locke and Kegan Dowling; three sisters, Diane Ware of Brockton, Mass., and Sandra Belmont and Miggy Camron, both of Boston; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Malcum and Paul Steadman; four sisters, Carol Reynolds, Dottie Lewis, Jean Dobbins and Mary Dowling; and one great grandchild, Luv Marie Myatt.
There are no services planned at this time and arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Leah Gordon and may be left at the funeral home.
