Sharlene Elliott, age 73, of Dixon, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 16, 2015, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 28, 1942, at Burnwell, W.V., a daughter of Charles and Loucolian (Pitt) Messer.
On Aug. 12, 1961, at Santa Cruz, Calif., she married Frankie Elliott who preceded her in death on June 18, 2007. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard Messer, Cecil Messer, Harold Messer, and Kenneth Messer; and one sister, Mabel Rucker.
She was a member of the Sheppard Baptist Church in Dixon and was a devoted homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Sherry Lou and Garry Honse of Dixon; Tina Louise and Terry Alexander of Michigan City, Ind.; and Franky Lynn and David Cahill of Dixon; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Shaynoah Sharp of Dixon; Alan Alexander and fiancée, Heather Baker, of Dixon; Chris Cahill of Springfield; Matthew and Katie Honse of Dixon; William Alexander of Murray, Ky.; Michael Cahill of Dixon; and Makayla Honse of Dixon; four great-grandchildren, Gavin Sharp, Josalin Sharp, Kolton Alexander, and Brantley Alexander; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Elliott will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, in the Sheppard Baptist Church at 14281 Cardinal Road in Dixon.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, in the Sheppard Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Little Flock Cemetery of Vienna. All arrangements are under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
